What it does

Documentation that checks itself.

Network documentation is usually out of date the week after it's written. RackTrace compares it with the live network, simulates changes before you make them, and prints the labels that keep it right on site.

Example cabling check results

Cabling check

See where the cabling and the documentation disagree

With a UniFi site linked, RackTrace reads every switch port: link state, speed, PoE, LLDP neighbours and the wired clients behind it. Each live link is compared with the documented cable path.

Network simulation

Know what breaks before it breaks

Start a backup, a broadcast storm or a loop, or cut a cable or a switch. RackTrace builds the network from your cabling and shows the bottleneck, the extra latency and loss, and who loses the network.

Floor plans

Every outlet and access point on the drawing

Upload the floor plan as PDF, DXF, PNG, JPG or SVG. Place racks, outlets, access points and cameras, see each cable route with its length, and get a warning above 90 metres.

Labels

Labels that match the documentation

Print cable labels with both ends, outlet and patch panel labels, and QR stickers that open the rack or device. Straight from the browser, or as CSV for P-touch Editor and DYMO Connect.

Everything in RackTrace

One tool from the patch panel to the firewall rule.

Every plan includes all of it. No modules to buy.

Document

From the building down to the single port, in one model.

Sites to ports

Tenant, site, floor, room, rack, device and port, each with a short ID, so every port has its own path.

Rack editor

Drag a device onto a U, patch by clicking or dragging between ports, front and back view, undo and redo, saved as you go.

Row view and trunks

All racks of a room side by side with the cables between them. Bundle 24× Cat6a or 12× OM4 into one named trunk.

Floor plans

The drawing per floor with rooms, racks, outlets, access points and cameras, and every cable route checked against 90 m.

Device library

300+ templates with the real port layout: the full UniFi range, patch panels, PATCHBOX, HPE ProLiant and Synology. Add your own.

History

Every change with user, time and old → new value, filtered per site, room, rack or device.

Find and share

Get the right answer on site, on paper or on screen.

Trace any cable

Follows a cable through patch panels, floor boxes and wall outlets, front to rear, from end to end.

Search everything

IDs, paths, names, IPs, serials, asset tags, port labels, VLANs and cable labels, across all your customers.

Labels and QR stickers

Cable, outlet and patch panel labels for Brother P-touch, DYMO and A4 sheets. QR stickers open the rack or device.

Reports and export

A printable report with rack elevations and cable schedule, CSV of devices, cables and ports, and a full JSON backup.

Plan the network

The logical network next to the physical one, and a way to test it.

Network plan

VLANs with subnet, gateway, DHCP and DNS, port profiles per switch port, and a single gateway or an HA pair.

Route check

Does every VLAN on an access port reach its gateway? Are IT and production kept apart? Where do native VLANs mismatch?

Routing, WAN, VPN, WiFi and firewall

Static routes, WAN links, VPNs, WiFi networks, firewall zones and rules, port forwards and DHCP reservations per location.

IP addresses

Used and free addresses per subnet, the next free IP outside DHCP, and conflicts such as duplicates or fixed IPs inside the DHCP range.

Planned changes

Mark cables and trunks as planned to document the next situation next to today's, and export a migration list per switch port.

Network simulation

Traffic, broadcast storms, loops and failures on the documented network, with the bottleneck and every single point of failure.

See it live

Compare the documentation with what the network reports.

UniFi discovery

One API key for every console. Per switch port the link, speed, PoE, profile, LLDP neighbours and wired clients.

Cabling check

Live links against documented paths: wrong port, mismatch, missing, still planned, or documented but down.

Device updates and endpoints

IP, MAC, serial and firmware changes to review. Unknown endpoints behind free outlets, created and patched in one click.

Domotz

Live online and offline status, device matching by MAC, serial, IP or name, and the Domotz map compared with your cabling.

Configuration from UniFi

Networks, routes, VPNs, WiFi and firewall read from the console. Review new, changed and removed items before anything changes.

Security alerts

After every sync: new port forwards, removed firewall rules, open WiFi, lost isolation and new VPNs, rated high or medium.
