Do I need UniFi or Domotz to use RackTrace?
No. Everything can be documented by hand. With UniFi Site Manager, Domotz or a JSON source linked, RackTrace adds live port data, online status, the cabling check and security alerts.
Can I bring my existing documentation?
Yes. Import a full JSON backup, VLANs and port profiles from UniFi Network, and your own device templates as JSON. On the Enterprise plan we help you move larger sets of existing documentation.
Which equipment is in the device library?
More than 300 templates with the real port layout: the complete Ubiquiti UniFi range, copper, keystone and fibre patch panels, PATCHBOX, HPE ProLiant and MSA, Synology and HP mini PCs. Add your own templates for all customers or for one tenant.
Where is my data stored?
In the EU, in a PostgreSQL database with a standby replica. Each organisation has its own database schema and its own nightly backup, checked and stored encrypted off-site as well. API keys and two-step secrets are stored encrypted.
What counts as a rack?
Every rack you document, in all your tenants together, whatever its height. Rooms, floor boxes, wall outlets, access points and other devices outside a rack don't count, and neither do customers or users.
Can my customers sign in?
Yes. Give a customer a viewer account on their own tenant. They see their sites, racks and cabling, and nothing of your other customers.
How do my colleagues sign in?
Your organisation gets its own address, such as yourcompany.racktrace.io. Everyone signs in there with a password and an authenticator app, or with a passkey.
Can I get my data out?
Always. Export devices, cables and ports as CSV, a tenant as JSON, or a printable report with rack elevations and a cable schedule.
